:/ I wanted to love this but I cringed often throughout and eventually DNF'd. In short, here were my big problems:

* The ideas were not original - it was a mish-mosh of plotlines from other books (The Hunger Games, The Selection, even The Giver)
* The characters used words and phrases that I've never heard an average teenager use and they used slang that was not appropriate for the geological location that they were supposed to be from on Earth
* There was absolutely no world-building
* The plot had potential to be exciting but there was so much left unsaid and unexplained that it never made complete sense
*The writing itself was just not great

I hate writing harsh reviews because I get how hard authors work on these books. This is just my opinion and if you like teenage romance with a tiny sprinkle of sci-fi, this might be right up your alley. It just wasn't for me.
