One seemingly innocent promise. The one girl he could never forget.

Collins Drake exercises control over all facets of his life. From his business, to his relationships, to satisfying his physical needs, it all happens on his command. So when a woman shows up at his door and reminds him of a promise they made to each other when they were just ten years old, it shouldn't have the ability to rock his entire world. Yet it does. Because Mia Monroe wasn't just his childhood best friend, she wasn't just the girl he lost his virginity to and hasn't seen since, she's the one exception to his perfect control. And piece by piece, she's about to tear apart his carefully laid plans.

Can I say I really loved the fact that Collins would honor a promise that he made to his best friend when he was 15? It's probably because I always enjoy a good best friends turned lovers storyline...and Kendall Ryan gives us a good one here.

There was more to Collins than I expected. I knew he loved his brothers and would do whatever he could for them, but we discover Collins is a protector and a bit of a fixer. But he doesn't take the time to look at his own life and see that what's happening with him. It takes the appearance of his teenage best friend, Mia, to throw everything upside down.

Mia finds herself in a bit of a jam when she decides to spend money she doesn't have to fly across the country and look up her old best friend. She figured asking him to keep his promise to marry her when she turned thirty would help solve her problems. Instead, she discovers just how much he missed her best friend and how she wants to much more from him than a "friendly" wedding.

I enjoyed Collins and Mia together. Pretty much for the moment they see each other again, they pick up where they left off. Despite a fifteen year separation, they knew each other so well it shocks both of them a bit (the fact that Mia knew Collins was dying for beef when Tatiana didn't made that very obvious). But it also proved just how perfect they were for each.
A great ending to an absolutely fabulous series. Thank you Kendall Ryan for giving us these filthy mouthed alpha males. They were a pleasure to follow and I'll miss them.
