The only word to describe Cornelia Funke's books is magical. Not only did she create a fantastic world, she also managed to put the feeling into words that every reader has from time to time: the longing to be in your favorite story. I love how she plays with this theme, makes you second guess but ultimately still has you aching for a different world.
The story itself is captivating. Inkspell is the kind of book that makes you smile, cry and hold your breath. There are moments were you are torn between wanting to know what happens next and being afraid of finding out what the pages will hold in store.
It is amazing that we finally get to explore the Inkworld itself instead of just reading about stories being told. I'm sure everybody who read Inkheart had been dying to find out what it's like.
Cornelia Funke has a way of surprising you with plot-twists that will break your heart. However, in the same moment she also awakens your hopes and you can't help but continue reading. The worst of it all: the cliffhanger at the end. Fortunately, I already had the third part waiting for me, otherwise I would have been really mad ;-)

Inkspell is a wonderful and magical book that will suck you right in. It exceeded all my expectations and I promise you'll love it too!
