Recreated by Colleen Houck

Recreated (Reawakened, #2)

by Colleen Houck

A New York Times Bestseller!

From Colleen Houck, New York Times bestselling author of The Tiger’s Curse, comes Recreated, the second book in the epic Egyptian-inspired Reawakened series, about a seventeen-year-old girl must literally go to hell to save the love of her life.

Lily Young thought traveling across the globe with a reawakened sun prince was a grand adventure. Now she’s about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.
When Amon and Lily part tragically, he transports himself to the Netherworld—what mortals call hell. Tormented by the loss of his one true love, he’d rather suffer in agony during Lily’s mortal years than fulfill his duty to protect humanity.
Heartbroken, Lily seeks refuge on her grandmother’s farm. Yet she can feel Amon’s pain, and she has been having dreams—dreams of Amon continually suffering.
For before he departed, Amon gave Lily something very special, an item that connects them even though they are worlds apart. Now Lily must use this object to free him, and to free their realms from darkness and utter chaos. She will do whatever it takes.

And don't miss new adventures with Lily in the rest of the Reawakened series: Reawakened and Reunited!

I won't waste much breath on why this was also a terrible book. It suffers from the exact pitfalls as the first. The butchering of Egyptian mythology was just not even worth getting mad about this time. All in all the cover is what drew me to this series (because they are gorgeous!) which I found at someone's tag sale. Should have known better when they were giving away hardcovers for free!

Lily has Amon's heart scarab, so of course she must become a sphinx in order to save him from the Netherworld and the Devourer. Don't worry some of Set is back, because of course he's lurking around for brief moments to make this series drag out further. Lily combines with a lioness (Tia) and Irish fairy (Ashleigh) and is now the perfect love interest for all the brothers! Yay for love (sarcasm).

Lily becomes even worse here, even with her counterparts. It was hard at times to distinguish who was really speaking and acting. This felt so drawn out, but also no one truly encounters anything that could stop them from completing this journey. The Reawakened series is also following the same recipe as the Tiger's Curse series and therefore I think we all know how this will end.

Again, if you like insta-Romance, pointless dialogue and plot development and a lackluster climax: read this. If not, I hope I saved you from purchasing this.
