I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to other people.

There are some things that I would love to change. I would have liked to see more of Lae’s Ma and sister in the book. I am sure that they both show up in the other books, but I would have loved to have seen more of them in this one.

The slaying of Madam Ismerelda. There was so much that she could have given in the book. Of course, her being killed in front of Lae set the tone for the rest of the book, and it made Lae into the person/mage he was.
