Oh my goodness. I love shifter books as much as the next person, but I have never been so glad to be finished with a book before in my life. The heroine is the one that ruined the whole thing for me. She was incredibly stupid. So dumb, in fact, that I was hoping the alpha wolf would wise up and move on regardless of the fact that she is his mate.

First off, Lillian—the dumb heroine—is driving in a snowstorm and she sees something in the middle of the road and instead of doing the smart thing and driving slow in the first place, she hits the brakes and closes her eyes waiting for impact. Are you kidding me? I think that would be the LAST thing you do. Anywho…she gets out and stumbles around sees blood then gets back in her car and drives to a secluded cabin for her holiday getaway. *rolls eyes*

Lillian is a pop star and is trying to find a quiet place to lick her wounds. She is caught up in a messy scandal in which she was dating a popular movie star who turned out to be married. I get that she wants to hide out until the attention dies down but when the movie star guy shows up at her cabin, she lets him in and believes the B.S he throws down about wanting her and lets him kiss her. This is happening all while the hero—stuck in wolf form to heal from a hunter’s trap—was taken in by the dumb woman.

There were a bunch of other things happening and some more dumb moments from Lillian but that’s really all I could remember. The stupidity of the heroine overshadowed every aspect of the story, which is too bad because I have enjoyed several books from the author. This, however, was a complete miss for me. I really wanted to like it but the heroine tanked it for me. But it will in no way deter me from reading future books from the author.
