Ok, I am going to say something that might shock you BUT this book so very nearly extremely closely knocked Five Minutes Late off its pedestal. I think it might have but still contemplating!! Hmmmmm
Why this book? Well, I adored this book!!

This book is effortless I read it in a couple of hours. The story of Natalie and Giovanni. Now I shouldn’t be screaming at these two to get together because well Natalie is engaged yet when you read this Jacks, yes Jacks, who loves his car and job more than anything, is clearly not the right man for Natalie. But really we shouldn’t be cheering them to break up as we near their wedding day, should we?! We all do love a bit of drama and as it is with all Hollywood rom-com, you know how it must end! Love, drama and will the right guy get the girl?

As I flew through this, it was over too quickly! I feel like I have read only 50 pages, not nearly 300! This all proves my point at how effortless Amooi makes his stories. There are no lulls in the book, there are no points in which you are willing the book to end. Instead, I find myself asking how the frig did I get to the end already!!!

I haven’t even discussed Giovanni! This bloke, he’s a dream with an absolute baby obsessed mother!! Ready to walk down the aisle for a second time is where we meet him, with his best friends Danny and Steve who I just adored! But, again, the bride is a no-show, is there something wrong with him?! Something we don’t see yet?!

Another well-rounded support cast, Federico, Natalie’s Nonno (Grampa) is like me a believer of love and he is a man I would love to meet! Danny and Steve the best friends who just cracked me up every time they were on a page. One is the font of all useless facts (great in a quiz team) and the other, well he doesn’t think before he speaks and is like a dog in heat, both are so endearing I want them to be my friends!!

And that ending! My god do things get way way out of hand, all Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Al Pacino!! It just went crazy, but saying that, it was also probably, the bit I was laughing the most out loud! It was mental, and you could tell how much Amooi was having when writing it!

Another winner for me! Can this man do no wrong?! He has a formula and he sticks to it and it wins for him. I still can not understand how he understands a woman’s mind so well when I can’t even figure out what’s going on in my head 98% of the time!! His characters get under your skin, as you watch them fall in love with each other whilst we do the same. I am so glad I have got more to read otherwise I don’t have a clue what I would do!! But only 5 books to go until I have read every single book!!! It just doesn’t bear thinking about.

Amooi’s books are like a slice of your favourite pie/cake/ ice cream *delete applicable. Doesn’t matter how many times you eat it you never get bored!!
