The main character has many names: Lucy, Rain, Kyla and Riley. Kyla is the name that I'm going to use in this review based on the fact that the main character was introduced with this name in Slated. Kyla is a hero! She is a complex character who always stands for what she believes is right. I was rooting for her every step of the way. Kyla showed growth and development as a character and she begins to understand how every single choice that she makes in her life influences her future. She has come a long way from the first novel, Slated. Basically, if Kyla existed in the real world, I would want her to be my best friend...
I was never hooked on the romance aspect in the Slated trilogy, and I was glad that it didn't become the focal point of the series. I knew that the last book would have more romance in it then the other book and I was prepared for it. The romance aspect didn't play as large a role as I thought it would. YAY! I was however, blind-sided by a love triangle that sprouted out of nowhere. I never liked the relationship between Ben and Kyla, but I felt as though the feelings and emotions that were needed to create a successful love triangle was non-existent.
Teri Terry knows how to write a trilogy that kept me wondering who is this character, is it a hero or a villain and what's going to happen next. I kept on having OMG moments as everything that I thought I knew and would happen was shattered (pun intended) by a new revelation.
Teri Terry is an amazing author who writes creative stories filled with complex characters! I'm glad that I read this trilogy.
