Rowan is a human blood slave to a master vampire named Theron. Theron runs a sex club that caters to all types of fetishes for vamps and humans alike. Rowan is content with his relationship with Theron, but realizes something's missing after meeting a human named Brett at the club.

Brett is recently divorced and is openly gay. He's hidden it for the last twenty years and is just looking for fun. Little did he know that meeting Rowan would throw all his good intentions out the door.

This book started out OK. It was interesting reading about the complex relationship between Rowan and Theron. Rowan was very conflicted after meeting Brett and realizing he wanted more than what he was getting with Theron. Rowan tells Brett that what he and Theron share is complicated and he wasn't kidding. The vamps wish to keep their existence secret. I really felt for Rowan; he was torn between both worlds and realized he would have to give one up. I didn't really connect with either Brett or Theron, though they were OK as characters. There was a decision made toward the end of the book that didn't work for me. It just seemed rushed and unresolved. It was not what I was expecting, though I plan to read the next one in the series.
