I cried happy tears on no less than four occasions and also gasped in delight at a reveal, and if you're thinking that physical displays of enthusiasm aren't something I normally mention in my reviews, you will have your explanation for why I rated this 5 stars. I'm also a sucker for anything Victorian-era that completely skewers Imperialism and white/male supremacy.
