West Coast Avengers #8

Another great issue for the West Coast Avengers! This series is so much fun! And better yet, it actually does have a serious plot at the core of it. This issue is clearly setting up for something larger, and we’ve already got a pretty good idea of what that will be, thanks to the conclusion here.
This issue did a great job of giving most of the characters a chance to shine. Admittedly not all of them got a moment, but those that didn’t have already been well established as useful in the series. It was fantastic seeing the others get a chance to prove themselves too.
As per usual, there was a healthy dose of humor infused into the plot as well. Most of it was at the beginning, as it was high with the craziness that can occur in this series. But there were a few laugh out loud moments throughout the main chunk of the issue as well.
The art style did change for this issue, which was mildly jarring. I don’t dislike the style at all, but I had grown attached to the old style and artist. A fact that I hadn’t been so keenly aware of until the change actually took place. Oh well, perhaps I’ll end up loving this one just as much?
