I have so many different thoughts dancing through my mind right now! I feel like I just sat down with a seventeen-year-old girl who shared with me her thoughts, worries, and struggles about being pregnant and in high school. There were so many little details that I had never considered before.

Juliette was in such a difficult position. She had a way of masking the identity of her baby’s father, having just returned from a semester abroad. Because of the way things had ended between Easton and herself, she felt it best to allow the misconception about who the father was to remain a secret. Was she right for this? You’d have to make that call yourself.

My heart went out to her for the way her mother seemed to care more about the impact this news would have on her own career than the things Juliette would have to endure as an unwed, pregnant teenager. And the fact that she felt like she couldn’t tell what was going on to her best friend was painful!

Situations like the one in the story are never as black and white as they seem to be at first glance. There are no easy answers. The author threw so many twists into the story making what seemed to be an easy choice difficult. I think she had the characters behave in ways that made sense and think that the way the story ended was the right ending as well. It just might not be the one you expect.

I’m not positive about this, but there may have been a clue about who the next Ridgewater High story will be about. I’m looking forward to seeing if I’m right. Don’t be afraid to jump into the series without having read any of the other books. While it would enhance your understanding of this one, it stands alone quite well. You just won’t know some of the references that are made to past events.

This is a clean romance. I’m saying that without stretching the truth. The details of how Juliette got pregnant were limited to simply her motivation and where they were when it happened. So don’t worry about there being more there than you were expecting. There was a kiss that took up at least a page (on my Kindle) and it was a little steamy, but was tastefully described and was necessary for the story.
