Will Imogen and her friends be able to find this herb to stay in town?
Due East, Beasts and Campfire Feasts by Erin Johnson is an excellent continuation of the last book Airships, Crypts, and Chocolate Chips. This book takes up right after Horace turns into a snake and disappears while his baby sister and her friends get surrounded by other islanders. This novel is pretty funny, keeps you entertained, and has excellent character development.
The Main Character:
The main character in Due East, Beasts, and Campfire Treats is Imogen Banks. Imogen is a pretty cool character. She tries not to get herself into too much danger and somehow that always changes for her. In this book, it is no different even though there is a bit of some tension between her and Hank. I still love this character and the way she tries to bring in some human pop culture into her magical world. Granted it doesn’t always work, but I find it very funny. She grows in this book, and it helps her relationship with Hank.
The Love Interest:
Imogen’s love interest like still her boyfriend, Hank. These two aren’t doing too well this time around, but it does get better for them. Hank is still recovering from what happened to him in book 6. Hank does get some character development especially close to the end of the story. Imogen got to see how he was before she came to his kingdom. They are a charming couple.
The Villain:
I am not going to spoil this for anyone since I am still surprised by how I missed it. All I do have to say is that it’s pretty cool how Imogen was able to figure it out.

Due East, Beasts, and Campfire Treats by Erin Johnson was an excellent novel. I am still thinking about it while I am typing up this review and laughing at some of the pop culture references in it. I loved the book. It was great. I am giving this book a five-star rating, and I am recommending to anyone that likes cozy mysteries.
