Resilient is book 3 in the True Brothers MC series. There are some crossover story arcs so it might be best to read in order. The book starts with the wedding of a previous couple, Jessica and Zag. Nicole is Jessica's friend and she has a very strong hatred for bikers. She is a bit rude and condescending about it really.

You do learn Nicole's reasons for her strong feelings about bikers. She does have valid reasons from her past that make her cautious. However, I still thought her actions and comments were uncalled for and over the top at times. She is so judgmental of everyone-her mom, bikers, her friends. She just came off as a bit of a bitter person.

Tank was a likable character! He is a former Marine who has his own sad backstory. While he had issues with his ex, he didn't come off as judgmental as Nicole did about her past. He is very closed off though. These two just did everything in their power to make things difficult!

There is the drama and danger of other clubs that really propels the action after the 50% mark. It took a while to get into the suspense part of the story though. The first half focuses almost exclusively on setting up Nicole and Tank as characters, and as I mentioned, they were tough to relate to at times. So, I wasn't sure I was going to finish the book because I was struggling so much with Nicole. However, once the story got deeper into the danger and drama from OUTSIDE these 2, I was more involved.

True Brothers MC is not a 1% -er club, but the danger is from the nearby clubs who aren't so honest! They aren't boy scouts either, so don't worry-there is plenty of bad boys around! Resilient weaves the tale of 2 damaged souls finding each other despite their past and through the danger of club life.
