Undeniable starts where the King series left off. Having not read this series I thought I would be lost but this was not the case. The author included enough back story to provide readers with enough knowledge about what happened to Rafe prior to this story. Undeniable starts with Rafe graduating from high school. We see where he has suffered pain when his father died and heartbreak when he lost the girl he loved to another guy and when his mom rejected him because she could not handle the fact that he had special abilities. But thank God for his grandparents who stood by him through all this.
After graduation, Rafe went on a drinking and sex binge in New Orleans. It was during this time that he met Jocelyn. She is quite a character and I liked her from the outset. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. She likes to be in control but she was not afraid to relinquish that control when the need arises. Jocelyn's purpose is to recruit Rafe to come work for a secret organisation that she is employed to. This organisation was set up to help persons with special abilities to be able to control and use these abilities for good. After his successful recruitment Rafe and Jocelyn were sent undercover on a mission that will prove to be quite dangerous and risky.
The story started out slow at first but then it picked up pace around the middle of the book. It is quite suspenseful and it had me literally biting my nails as I started to wonder if their covers would be blown. The story flowed and was easy to follow. The love scenes were hot and nicely written. My main peeve while reading a book is cliffhangers and so I was like OMG! Tawdra did not just do that to me. The ending left me wanting more and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. Hope I don't have to wait too long.
While reading I was reminded of two television series Heroes and The Tomorrow People. If you love those series then you will definitely enjoy this book. Undeniable is filled with romance, mystery, suspense, action and adventure and is recommended for readers 18 and over who loves these types of stories.
