Before you even consider reading this book make sure to read Fading, which is Candace's story. Yes, I suppose you can say that this is a re-hash of events from Ryan's POV, but we also get to know his full story and why he is the way he is.
How would I describe Ryan? Fierce ... protective ... loving ... caring ... scarred. As if I didn't fall in love with Ryan during Fading, I definitely fell head over heels in love with him, in this one. Ryan and Candace were made for each other, they definitely completely each other. Both suffered traumatic events in their lives and throughout the book, they still have plenty to overcome. And the conclusion was for them to be together, they have what each other needs.
Just like how it was in Fading, I had to relive being ticked off at Candace for some of the things she did. But it's okay, she realized what she did and things were great again. One thing that I try to do, when I read my books is to place myself in their shoes. It was extremely tough for this book because Candace and Ryan's personal experiences is something no human being should EVER have to go through. It's completely traumatic and there's just so much that went through their minds; blame, guilt, shame. Of course from an outside perspective, they never should have felt like that. They were just two amazing people that were seriously wronged and it made them who they are today.
When they're together, walls come down, hearts begin to open and they both learn to love. And they're so passionate about each other. This book brought tears to my eyes, it split my heart right open (AGAIN), toe curling moments, and a beautiful happy ending that I always love.
In Falling, once you get past the part of where things ended in Fading, you being to wonder what happens next. I like how E.K. Blair ended the book, but I felt like it was a little drawn out, I found myself wondering what the ending would be (and it was amazing, trust me ... very beautiful). And thinking when the conclusion would be coming up.
I'm such a fan of this series and I think all of you will Ryan's POV!
