I don't think I would have liked this at all if Jessica Chastian wasn't playing her in the movie. Because I really like Jessica Chastain. She's fierce. She's smart. She's interesting. Molly in the book comes across as pretentious and too impressed with herself (and putting herself on the cover is kind of (totally) obnoxious. Which is perhaps mean to say because she obviously held her own in a very tough world. She was innovative. She understood people and she was good at what she did. She just should have gotten a better ghost writer so she came across more sympathetic. Sure, she admits her flaws in the whole thing, but that doesn't wash away the aggrandizing tone. And the simplistic writing style which is common in autobiographies but thoroughly uninteresting.

I think overall I would probably have liked the movie and should have just stuck to that instead of reading the book.
