It was hard to read Siren’s Fury because after Storm Siren, I was in disarray. I remember that ending oh man I remember that ending. Remember this is the second book so it will contain spoilers for the first. .

So yay kingdom saved but what is up with Eogan….Noo not Eogan. Poor Nym after spending her entire life a slave, she finds herself saving the nation that enslaved her. She’s also found love and a new appreciation of her elemental “curse”. Instead of reward Nym finds that Draewulf not only takes the body of the man she loves but her powers. Two things that Nym has come to rely on. Now she must saved not just her nation but the world feeling powerless.

One thing I loved about this book is even though Nym and Eogan interactions are few and far in between. Rasha and Nym are a solid friendship. I love that Rasha is right there to support Nym and tell her that they can do this. Sometimes their views on how to go about things are different but they still are there to help the other. They both have moments that they need comfort and a good friend. They are pretty much an unstoppable duo.

Myles. That creepy creepy Myles takes on a surprising role in this book, so we get to see a lot of him. He’s kind of an interesting character because you know that no matter what he does. He is only doing it to help himself but there are moments where he almost almost seems to care what’s going on.

We spend a lot of time on Bron Airships and then in Bron itself. I loved how Mary Weber describes this nation, especially with the running water. Rasha and Nym become obsessed with that for a couple pages. We also get to see a lot of how Bron’s culture functions as a war nation and being that Eogan is not himself, Draewulf is able to use that to his advantage.

I don’t want to give too much away but Nym has to really find herself in Siren’s Fury. It almost seems like more so than Storm Siren because she has to deal with losing things that make her her. She feels like she needs that crutch even if she has to find it from the dark side. I think she starts to see that she controls her abilities and yes they are of course a part of her but they are not all of her.

Some bombs dropped at the end there. So it keeps me waiting for the next book. Not as intense as the ending of Storm Siren but still enough to make me feel a little stressed.

A strong second book with a plot that does not make you feel like you are just biding time. Full of action and well stress for me. Ha I loved it and now I’m waiting to see how Nym ends this.
