Teacher I want to Date by Mia Kayla is a lighthearted story of a teacher and a student's uncle. Their meet cute is so awkward! Gabby and Mason (and their families) brings some deep moments along with lots of crazy times.
Gabby and Mason both have tight knit families. Mason is very involved in his niece's life and seeing her grow up really hits him hard. I was cringing at his invasion into her life (her own father wasn't going that far). Gabby has a better understanding of teens (as teachers usually do) and really tries to explain to Mason how to better relate to his niece. Mason realizes quickly he is very attracted to Gabby.
Mason is a number cruncher who plans every move. He is never spontaneous so he struggles with his spontaneity regarding Gabby. Conversely, Gabby is much more impulsive. These two are a solid foil for each other and their budding relationship is cute. They both have a recent history of a BAD relationship, so they are cautious. Personally, I wish the ex drama wasn't so pervasive. Mason wants a family and a wife. It was endearing since so many books feature a man whore hero.
There are plenty of laughs throughout the story that keeps everything upbeat! If you are looking for a fairly quick read featuring characters with lots of close family ties, Teacher I Want to Date is a solid pick!
