Zombies

For some reason, I am obsessed with zombies. I have the zombie couch to 5k app on my phone I watch The Walking Dead religiously. And plus it is that time of year for slightly spooky reads. So I saw this in the library, and I was like cool a zombie book I haven't read yet.

The book is like a journal of this scientist who survives the initial zombie infection. In it, he keeps track of his thoughts and findings. He tells of the maybe mysterious food that is supposed to have caused the people to get sick and reanimate. To be sure he tells it as he experiences it so we never know for sure. He records his travels north as the cold supposedly keeps the zombies away. That made me feel better as I live in Cleveland where it is winter eight months out of the year.

There is also drawings in the journal. It gets gory so if you are sensitive to that this may not be the book for you. I, however, thought that the artwork was fantastic! Among the best I have seen in a graphic novel so far. The illustrator used his imagination to bring the zombies to life. It also kept true to the fact that this is a journal written by a scientist, so it wasn't TOO professionally done. I loved the story line and plot. The only thing I did not like is that there is no ending. The book made clear that some humans survived and I wanna know HOW but when the scientist gets killed it boom book over. Oh well, I guess that what all the other zombie books are for.This review was originally posted on Adventures in Never Never Land
