A Love Remembered was the first book I've read by Elizabeth Goddard. It was a fairly good book, yet was very short.

I liked the style of the writing and the story was interesting. The book was a little awkward because of its length. The first half was spent setting up the story, explaining Jonas and Darcy's past and setting up some details for the suspense part of the book, then all of a sudden, Jonas' job resulted in danger for Darcy and the suspense part kicks in. It seemed a bit abrupt.
Early in the story, there was an event that revealed that Darcy had a gripping fear of the fissure outside the city. Yet when she was being chased, she headed right for it to hide in without hesitation. And as she was hiding there, it was like she never had any concerns about it. And how exactly did Jonas know exactly where she was? He wouldn't have expected her to hide there. That whole part of the story was a little convoluted.
Overall, I think the story would have been better if it was longer so it could have been more developed. It might have also benefited from telling the story of the deadly raid that put Jonas on leave instead of just recounting the barest of details.
