Charlie likes to stand out. She's a vlogger and actress promoting her first movie at SupaCon, and this is her chance to show fans she's over her public breakup with co-star Reese Ryan. When internet famous cool girl actress Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie's long-time crush on her isn't as one-sided as she thought. Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there's one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with her best guy friend Jamie - no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about a fan contest for her favorite fandom, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.
I liked reading this one, it was cute and fluffy and very endearing. As a regulair Con visiter myself I LOVE reading about this kind of things, it makes me feel all happy and stuff ^^
But apart from that.. And I dislike saying this, but it did not really have much depth. The characters were a bit too perfect for me, did everything right, there weren't really that much struggles they did not overcome easily... That made it all to simple and not complex/dramatic enough for my taste.
And yes, there are some issues in here, with autism (asperger) and bi-sexual stuff.. I loved how she discribed the autism and let other people know, that even though you can't see it it doesn't mean that they don't have daily struggles.. But it was all too easily solved.
Mainly it is just a nice in-between read that is cute and fluffy and full of fandom.
3.5 stars, but I just can't round it up to 4... it isn't good enough for me to rate it 4 stars, so rounded down to 3.
