From the acclaimed author of Compromised comes a tale of love and war among the ton.
Phillippa Benning is the unrivaled beauty of the Season. But when another lady challenges her for a marquis's attentions, Phillippa entices him to a secret rendezvous-only to stumble upon The Blue Raven, England's most famous spy, lurking at the site of her planned tryst.
I definitely need more Historical Romances in my life that star the "mean girl." In Revealed, we meet Phillippa who is adored, admired, and feared among the Ton. Her opinion on everything matters. If she likes something, sales rise. If she hates something, sales fall. If she likes you, your popularity rises. If she ignores you, then you're basically an outcast. She also has a feud going with another young woman, Jane, and they've just upped the stakes. Both have their sights on the same Marquis, but then Phillippa comes up with a plan to guarantee that she wins him.
Revealed was such a delightful read! I loved this rivalry between Phillippa and Jane and how it set everything into motion. Phillippa is scandalous! But still a lady, which is very important. Obviously, this marquis is not the love interest. When a midnight meeting is interrupted, Phillippa finds herself hiding with Marcus Worth, then hiding alone while Marcus has his own meeting in the same room. It turns out that Marcus is a famous spy, The Blue Raven. Phillippa can't believe it, but she knows this information will make her the talk of the Ton for years to come. Luckily, she has the one thing that he doesn't: access to all of the hottest parties which are possibly under threat.
I just really enjoyed Revealed. I'm finding that I love the mix of Historical Romance and Romantic Suspense, and this was a particularly good one. Even though Phillippa is a bit unlikable at first (I loved to dislike her!), it's clear that she's going to do some serious transforming as she spends more time with Marcus. The plot was fast paced and exciting in places, and the romance was definitely swoon-worthy!
