Fire Storm is the second book in the Kaely Quinn Profiler books. Kaely is going from St.Louis to Nebreska in order to help her estranged mom out while she is sick. Her brother is also there and he wants to use this time to reconnect as a family after all the past tragedy they have had to deal with. Instead though Kaely just wants to get through all of this and finds any distraction she can to get away. This distraction comes in the form of two seperate cases, one that she is officially working on for the FBI with her partner, and the other one is working on on the side on her own. The two cases are very different and both bring problems for Kaely. I can say the one she was working on on the side was my favorite and the one I cared about the most. The FBI one just seemed to be thrown in so her partner could be in Nebreska with her to help her get through all the family drama she has to deal with.
Overall I find this book to be far more likable than the first one. There were no weird religious parts thrown in at random times which was my biggest gripe with the first one. Seeing Kaely relationships growing not only with her family, but also her partner was nice to see. We see them all start trusting eachother a little more as well as learning more about everyones past. I do think it set up some things that will happen in the third book, but I could be wrong about that. I'm glad I decided to give this one a try and I can't wait to read the third book.
Side note: Is this a trilogy or a series? I can never find any info about that.
