The writing was as magnificent as ever, but the plot was not strong enough for the writing to feel purposeful. Even after finishing it, I'm still not sure of the point of this tale. It was enjoyable enough, but still directionless.
Despite not caring much for this title, I still recommend Richard Storry as an author. His narrators are always excellently chosen and deliver beautiful performances. Jonathan Trueman did a fine job of narrating The Virtual Lives of Godfrey Plunkett. His performance was a highlight of this experience for me. ♣︎
