Proxima Centauri #1

Proxima Centauri is a new series by Image Comics. I literally knew nothing about it when I picked it up, but Image has been taking a lot of fun risks lately so I’m willing to reward that by giving most of their new series a try.
The storytelling style for this series is a little bit scattered and rushed, but it does have potential. I’m not going to pretend that I understood everything that was happening, but I expect a lot of it will get explained further in the series. Clearly the goal for this issue was to grab our attention and curiosity.
I really love the rougher art style for this series. You can clearly tell it was all hand drawn – something you don’t see all of the time these days. The plain backgrounds was an interesting choice, but I actually think it really complemented the art style perfectly.
