Deadpool: Secret Agent Deadpool #2 (of 6)

Picture a Deadpool and 007 mashup, and that’s more or less what you have here. Actually, that doesn’t fully take into account for Christopher Hastings humor, which has been the cherry on top for this series.
Deadpool is an agent of chaos, plain and simple. He has trouble taking anything seriously, and even when he isn’t half assing it, he’s usually messing having a laugh or two along the way (which may or may not mess up the whole plan). So to have his character blended with the plot of James Bond is actually hilarious.
Seriously, can you imagine Deadpool with access to half the tools that James Bond casually lugged around? Yeah, things are going to go boom. A lot of things.
This series has had me laughing since the start. The comedic timing is spot on, the jokes irreverent and quirky, and Deadpool is well…Deadpool. And on top of all that there’s an actual plot going on – though I think Deadpool keeps forgetting that fact.
I’m kind of sad that this is only a miniseries, though I get why they decided to limit its run. I guess in a way all of my favorite Deadpool series have been the shorter series (Back in Black was fantastic, if you ask me).
The artwork is perfectly Deadpool in every way that matters. The style matches perfectly with the main run, as do all of the major details of Deadpool’s looks (both in and out of costume). Despite all of that, you can tell that the artist has been having fun with a couple of the more peculiar requests that have been made.
