Hrm. It sort of feels like they’re getting ready to wrap this plot up, doesn’t it? I’m afraid to look and get a confirmation on this…but I’m worried that the Catwoman series will only be a short stint, instead of the longer run I was hoping for. Truth be told, I was afraid of that from the start. Though I could be wrong. Maybe they’re just wrapping up this plot so they can start another. Or maybe the plot goes a lot deeper than I realized.
This issue had a lot of great fighting scenes, a few emotionally tense moments, and it set up for the next issue. I’ll be curious to see how it all ends up playing out, in the end.
I absolutely adore the art style being used. It’s so perfect for Catwoman that at times it’s actually easy to forget about it and not appreciate it enough. And then there are the moments that really show you what it can do. What struck me in this issue (and issues past) was the way the antagonist in particular has been rendered. She looks strikingly different based on a certain situation (which if you’ve been following the series you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about) while not being overstated or too obvious. It’s so well done that I just can’t seem to get over it.
