Avengers Disassembled is a story arc that starts rather tame but very quickly escalates into an all out catastrophe of epic proportions.

I have seen a lot in the way of negative feedback on this one and I can honestly say that I understand, some people will loose their favorite characters in this and the Avengers as we know them will change. It’s a huge turning point and a big change, so fan adversity is a given…however I actually liked the change up. I usually never have problems with companies killing off major characters and that’s simply because when it comes down to it I know that sometime in the future those characters will come back. So when they decide to shake things up I just go with it. Spiderman was a highlight of this issue, especially since this is a darker issue, so his humor is appreciated. I do wish that the whole reason for Scarlet Witch’s mental break down was explained in more depth or given another aspect, it really didn’t come off as anything more than a means to an end.

I have one major complaint and it’s always the same when it comes to major story arcs like this…it needs more than 3 or 4 issues or else it feels slightly rushed. I understand why they don’t draw it out but never the less it’s annoying. The art is consistent and dynamic however during the darker scenes some of the detail is lost in the shadowing.

I am interested to see how this will change things for the Avengers and I’m rather curious about what Magneto is going to do with his daughter.
