I enjoyed this book. I know the idea of a fae beauty and the beast retelling is far from anything new, but I enjoyed the more original execution of the concept and the overarching background conflict. Both characters were likeable and their motivations were both reasonable and interesting.

However, it takes a bit of time to get to the meat of the book and personally I would have preferred the romance to develop a little slower. The end of the book was quite fast paced in comparison and felt a little rushed. I also found the use of the mirror a bit heavy handed on the beauty and the beast trope given it didn't have much relevance in the end.

A minor nitpick is the editing in the kindle version. I found that some character names were used in the protagonists POV before they had been revealed to her.
