I received an eARC of this title from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book delivers on its premise and so much more. This is the take on forbidden magic that I’ve been waiting for , when so many others have felt overplayed or underwhelming. I really enjoyed all the perspectives in this book, and the cast of characters is vibrant and interesting. Just when I thought the ending might be a little predictable and lack lustre, the author upped the ante with realistic stakes and a twist. I will absolutely purchase a finished copy of this book and I’m already eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
