I received this book for free from the Prism Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Can an average looking girl get the guy?

The Rancher’s Rescue by Cari Lynn Webb was an excellent book, and I loved every bit of it. I decided to read this one right after The Rancher’s Twins since I had them both and it just seemed logical to do that.

In this book, we have Ethan Blackwell, who was born and raised near Billings, Montana and wants to have a life away from the small town where everyone knows him and his family. Then we have Grace Gardner that is also a local. Grace wants to live her life in the town that she knows is safe and full of family. It's the perfect place to raise her child.

Ethan Blackwell

He is the main male character of this book. Ethan is a veterinarian, who is trying to get a job as a vet anywhere not in Montana.  But he is called home to help Jon and Katie with the Blackwell Family Ranch.  He’s had a rough time since his parents died and doesn't want to be hurt by love or the loss of love.

What I like about Ethan is that he knows with what he wants. He wants to work with horses in his veterinarian practice anywhere but in Montana. At least he thinks he knows what direction he wants his life to go in. Someday he wants a family. Another thing I liked is that he is very good with animals and little kids.

What I don’t like about him is that he thinks leaving is the right thing to do and that anyone can do it. He doesn’t want to stay in a town that has caused him heartache, and he isn't sure if he wants to give it another chance.

Grace Gardner

She is the main female character in this book. Grace is the middle child and is a sister of Ethan’s ex-girlfriend. She is a pretty interesting character, and I was immediately on her side. Grace is a sweet and amazing person.

What I like about her is that:

  • She can handle a lot of things at once, a great multi-task type person.

  • Grace has drive. She wants to start her own business despite knowing everything that she will have to do.

  • She is a pretty good accountant, and she is excellent at handling things around her family’s store.

  • Grace is also really good at helping Ethan.

  • Grace has a plan, and she believes that she can raise this child and accomplish all her other dreams.

What I don’t like is that she doesn’t think that Ethan truly loves her or wants what she wants. Grace doesn't have confidence in herself when it comes to her appearance or relationships. Grace has always been the normal looking sister and one that men don’t date unlike her gorgeous older and younger sister.

Five Stars

This book is my second Harlequin romance, and I loved every bit of it. The Rancher’s Rescue by Cari Lynn Webb is a great romance to read, and you don’t even have to read the first one since it tells you what has happened in the last book.  I can't wait to read the next three books in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. I love this family, and I look forward to more. I am giving this book a five-star rating and recommending it to anyone that loves romances in a western setting.

Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by
