As I begun The Ever After Of Ella and Micha, I realised that I had skipped book three in the series completely, but I'm not sure it mattered. Ella's life has always been dramatic, the tragedy of losing her mother, her mother's Bipolar illness and raising herself. To her brother and father blaming her for her mother's passing, Ella still blaming herself. But considering her depression, a turbulent past and with only a young Micha for support, her urge to flee seems to stem more from immaturity and having lost the ability to grow as a person. She doesn't come across as bring anything to the relationship, but Micha is in love with her regardless.

Micha is a cross between a doting sweetheart and being blinded by sex. Where most would be hurt and angry at being kept dangling while Ella deals with her issues, he's far too accepting and seems to solve their relationship issues with a dose of hot sex and wrapping Ella in cotton wool. He's fearful that she'll run from their nuptials and flee, constantly seeking reassurance, while Ella seems to be on her own quest to prove her nerves are more than just cold feet at spending forever with the supposed love of her life. To put it bluntly, they are both fault riddled and imperfect, but together they seem to work.

Jessica Sorenson is the queen of the unrealistic relationship. A fantasy that's sexually based that readers can lose themselves in. The Ever After Of Ella And Micha shows the realistic side of living with depression, but sadly Ella seemed to be rehashing the same issue over and over, and the majority of the storyline was dealing with her inability to pull herself together, sex, another dramatic episode, more sex and coming to terms with how to move forward to become Micha's wife, and yes, more sex. It's one of the problems I have with new adult novels, the sex often compensates for character development and an in depth storyline.

This will be the last new adult novel I read for quite a while. I'm not prudish by any means, but not everything can be solved with sex.
