Brand of the Pack by Tera Shanley is the fourth book in the Silver Wolf Clan. I have been enjoying this urban fantasy and getting to know the wolf clan. Despite the length of these novels, Shanley had managed to hook me and endear me to this clan.

While the previous books were laden with angst, suspense and danger, Brand of the Pack focused more on shoring up the relationship between Morgan and Greyson as it introduced a new threat.
Shanley has created an engaging series and I quickly slip into the story despite wishing for a full length novel. To her credit, she tells a tight tale and I guess one should appreciate being able to slip away for an hour and enjoy a good story.

Brand of the Pack wrapped up the romantic aspect of the series but also opened the door to a new threat. I am anxious to learn more about this new danger, and see the White Wolf Clan strengthen. Shanley continued to add depth to her characters while weaving in some sweet moments. While this installment wasn't as action packed as the last few, we did get some battle scenes, a good dose of humor and a little snuggly time. Greyson continues to be his smexy self and is becoming comfortable in his decision to form his own pack.

The world building and clan structures are fascinating.  The author continues to strengthen and flesh out this world. Secondary characters add substance and threads like those of a jealous she-wolf have me oh so curious. The bonding ceremony was interesting although not as ritual rich as others I have read. Unlike the previous books which ended with a cliffhanger, Brand of the Pack has more of a closed ending as it hints of what we can expect in the next installment. The next book, Summit of the Wolf promises danger and a war for the Silver Clan. Based on its price point I have to assume this will be another novella length read.
