Tula is dating, new mum Vinny is struggling, lawyer Jabeen has to walk a tricky professional and personal line and Samina and Sonal are both hiding a secret that threatens the Girlies’ strong bonds. Series writer and actor Shaheen Khan is best known for her role as Mrs Bhamra in Bend It Like Beckham. She also stared in Bhaji on the Beach and It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. On television, she has had a recurring role in Casualty and starred in Doctor Who. Co-creator, Sudha Bhuchar has appeared in EastEnders and Coronation Street and as Usha Gupta in BBC Radio 4's The Archer’s.
