Nadz@Totally Addicted to Reading
This installment introduces Ethan a vampire assassin who works for the Under Realm syndicate. His current assignment involves tracking down a wayward she-wolf and returning her to her pack. He was not too keen on the job as he felt his skills could be utilised elsewhere. However, when he met the she-wolf in question and discovered that she was being tracked by the alpha responsible for the death of his friends he knew he had to protect her at all cost. If that was not enough, the nefarious plans her father had for her, only helped to fuel his protective instincts.
Freya ran away from her pack as she was not on board with her father's plan for her. While on her journey she met a sexy vampire whom she would soon discover was her mate. However, her current circumstances left no room for her to pursue any form of relationship. Despite this she cannot fight the pull that existed between them. Will Ethan be able to keep her safe from the dangers nipping at her feet and in the process open his heart to love?
Ethan is carrying around a lot of pain. He blames himself for the death of his best friend even though he was not at fault. His inner turmoil leapt off the pages and I could not help but to empathize with him.
Fraya is a strong-willed wolf. I loved her determination and her willingness to aid Ethan despite the dangers.
Their attraction was instantaneous, which came as no surprise. Ethan however was confused by his attraction to Freya. The more time they spent in each other’s company their feelings intensified.
The story is well written. It was easy to follow, and it flowed from start to finish. There was never a dull moment. I eagerly turned the pages as I needed to know how it would unfold. The story ended on a good note, but I still had questions especially as it relates to Freya's fathers plans for her in his bid to gain power.
Conclusion/Recommendation
Surrender to the chase is engaging and fun. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series have to offer
