CrowNoYami
I went into this book with high expectations and have to say that they were all blown out of the water. This is the first book I've read, which deals with both aliens and a reasonable modern Earth at the same time. It's set in present-day Earth, and, honestly, the setting is perfect for this story. What I found really shone through the book is the pacing. It's a quick read, going from one chapter to the next easily, even though each chapter is from a different character's POV (switching between MCs).
I don't want to get into the story's details as I have a hard time not spoiling it. That being said, I can't wait to see how the characters develop in the second part of the series. There are still so many unasked questions that I can't wait to dive into with the second book. The characters have grown on me, even ones who I didn't think I would like.
A great, quick read.
