Baroness Book Trove

Cece is different from Ms. Pressey’s other characters in a few ways, the biggest being she is a witch who’s spell really work. Cece is nice, she follows the clues well, she figured out who did it. I like that Cece lives in a retirement community. The retirees are fun and made me laugh.
Derek is smart, witty and debonaire. He knows Cece better that she thinks he does and he is very observant. He figured out that she was a witch. Derek also has a great singing voice, although I am not sure if dressing up like Elvis is staying incognito.
I also liked that Las Vegas is different than Ms. Pressey’s setting. I like how the casinos and the impersonators show up in the different cases. It is fun.
This book is so different from the other books I read by Mrs. Pressey that it kind of shocked me. Granted it’s not as blush-worthy as the first book from what my mom has told me about that one. Which she really liked by the way. This book was a little risque, in some spots.
Just like with any book it has its ups and downs in the story along with some slow parts but that’s okay. There was some small stuff that Mrs. Pressey’s editor didn’t find which is okay too, I just kept going. Besides that, it was a good book. I really like Rose Pressey’s writing and always look forward to her new books.
I am giving this book 3.5 stars since it’s good and made me want to read to the end to find out if I was right about who did it.
