It seems I've been reading a huge number of books lately with extremely serious subject matter. And I was needing a break. Fortunately for me, I had a copy of Kimberly Rose Johnson's newest book waiting for me...
This sweet story encompasses the best aspects of holiday stories: God's love, giving, and romance! I found it humorous that Sara was so worried about finding the right recipient for the gift she was tasked with giving because she clearly she loved to give and to bless others. Then again, this was part of what made her so endearing.
Best friends falling in love with each other is a favorite trope of mine, so I was already predisposed to enjoy this story. The great relationship Gabe and Sara had, the way they complimented each other so well, helped each other so naturally, and the way they simply enjoyed each other made it clear to pretty much everyone (except Sara!) that they were in love. And I wanted their relationship to turn into something more.
My one disappointment with Sara's Gift was that things were not more developed though I understand this isn't always possible with a novella.
While you will want to read this yourself, it would also make a nice gift for readers you know who might also want a sweet holiday treat.
