Psychic and con woman Sera MacBride finds herself in a deep trouble. While on the job, she lost her client's son. Now she finds herself trying to solve the mystery of what happened to her client's son, in a love/hate relationship with a vampire, battling a new breed of speaking vampires and inadvertently learning about her past. So what's a psychic to do? Why you call in the cavalry, of course!
Although there is definite chemistry between Sera and her silent vampire, I enjoyed how realistic Treanor made the romance. They each had their own baggage to wade though causing them both to fight the attraction they felt for each other, even as they couldn't resist the pull. Two people, from opposite sides develop strong feelings for each other against the odds. I couldn't help but keep thinking of West Side Story while I was reading this. Good thing West Side Story is a favorite of mine.
I must say though, the sidekicks were my favorite. On Sera's side we have Jack and Jilly (I fully expected the joke to be made atleast once). On Blair's side we have Phil, who's never met a bottle of whiskey that he didn't like. With friends like these, this promises to be a great read and it does not fail.
