I really tried but I just couldn’t get passed the forever plumber puns and her proclamation of being a barista. Plus the story was falling apart slowly, I just wasn’t even getting any warm and fuzzies about the characters. I didn’t like any of them. Plus they had sex in a dirty room. Gag! It might be good for some but for me it just didn’t work out. I wanted to enjoy the MC and the guys but I just didn’t. This is probably just me, since so many seem to really like it. Love the authors just not this book.
Elements of Mischief is perhaps the strangest book I have ever read. Raunchy (seriously-its a 5 flame read for sure!), funny, and filled with strange paranormal creatures, this book had me rolling my eyes at the bad "dad jokes", but totally engaged (which took me by surprise for sure!)
Arizona's grandma dies and she inherits the house. Said house is hella old and in major disrepair. She has no working toilets! She calls a plumber and the rest is history! She doesn't know about the magical, supernatural world before being thrust into it and then finding out the entire world around her is magical. Her best friend is a slutty werewolf and the 4 hot plumbers are elementals.
Elements of Mischief is a reverse harem story, so Arizona has 4 (maybe more....;) ) soulmates that she is now linked to. This activates her power as a spirit elemental and she is thrust into a world of danger and intrigue. But, the perks include having her 'pipes cleaned' by her 4 hot plumbers (yeah, there are SO MANY plumber puns...). Then her judgmental grandma comes back to haunt/help her, and she finds out a lot about who she really is (aside from being a total commitaphobe)!
Like I said, this is a 5 flame read for sure. Its erotic romance. In between the erotic romance reverse harem plot line is the hilarious jokes and strange PNR world that James and Stunich have created. Oddly, this book totally worked for me. But, I will say it again-its a level 5, so its not going to be everyone's cup of tea. But, if you are okay with erotica, reverse harems, an insane amount of puns, a werewolf who loves pink PVC, and a slut shaming grandma ghost, Elements of Mischief might just be the most enjoyable story you read!
