Until December by Aurora Rose Reynolds continues the Until Her series with another Mayson daughter. This time, December falls for single dad, Gareth (whom we have met before in passing). Gareth has been raising his two teenage boys alone; well, for the most part alone. His ex shows up occasionally just to screw things up then she bails again.
December and Gareth don't get off to the best start. There is a bit of a fib that puts Gareth on the defensive. However, they get past that and things move quickly (as is typical in all the Until books!). I loved Gareth's boys, Mitchell and Max. They were great additions to the story and I really think readers will connect with their struggles regarding their feelings about their mother.
What made me really love Until December though was December. First, she is a teacher. Teachers rock! Second she was born in December, and people born in December also rock. Third, she said some things that had me screaming at my kindle "YES!! Oh my gosh, someone just like me!".
When I'm reading and I get to a point in a book that makes me nervous about how things will turn out, I skip to the end just to make sure everything ends up okay.
This is so me it hurts. I know some people can't understand why anyone would do this, but yall I do NOT like surprises. If the book doesn't end happy, I am not wasting my time.
...reading a romance book and watching a romance play out on screen are completely different. When you read about a couple, it's like you are there with them, falling in love at the same time they do. You feel, smell, and see what they do. Its difficult to portray that into actions and looks in a movie.
I have always felt this way but never have been able to explain it! This is a perfect explanation for why I love reading romance, but hardly watch romance.
Fans of single dad romance or big, involved families will enjoy Until December by Aurora Rose Reynolds. The Maysons are such a devoted family you can't help but love them. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt and kind of thrown in there, but otherwise, this story was top notch!
