We finally get Luc and Cam's story, and I have to say, I really liked the direction Wolff took with these two.

Both were so insecure. Luc believed his talent was inferior to that of his best friends. Cam believed she was just one of the boys, and undesirable to the opposite sex. But, they were perfect together. They just didn't realize it yet.

As with the previous Extreme Risk books, the friendship between these four played a huge role, and I love the way they support and encourage each other, while they also call each other out on their BS.

It's hard to reveal my favorite parts without revealing a major plot point (which I hate when people do), but I will say I enjoyed this book, and am super excited to see who will get the spotlight in the next book

I really enjoy the friends to lovers trope and this is no exception. Against the backdrop of the professional world of competitive snowboarding, this the first book I have read in the Extreme Risk series.

What happens when two people who have know each other since they were four years old end up having a one-night stand?

Luc Jennings and Cameron “Cam” Bradley's reactions are at the opposite end of the spectrum from one another after a one night stand! Cam is horrified because Luc is her best friend. Luc is left shattered after the best night of his life with the woman he's secretly in love with turns into a nightmare.

The author creates palpable sexual tension between the protagonists as they try to rebuild some sort of mutual relationship again. Luc's feelings of inadequacy leave him believing he can't compete with Cam's unrequited love for Z. Both are dealing with abandonment issues having been rejected by their respective mothers. They have so much in common but seem to have totally forgotten how to communicate on even the most basic level.

I found the settling for the story insightful but didn't really care much for the sub-plot surrounding Cam's Mom. It just seemed a bit too far fetched and didn't really bring anything worthwhile to the main story.

Many times I've read a standalone within a series only to feel as though I really needed to have read the earlier books; to get a better understanding of the dynamics between the characters. Not so with this book, which was a huge bonus, although I am intrigued to know more about Z and Ash.

The book ended with a few unanswered questions but I'm okay with that. I'm guessing we'll get a chance to see how Luc and Cam are doing in the next Extreme Risk book? If not, I'm more than happy for my mind to fill in the gaps. This is the first book I've read by Tracy Wolff and will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

I have read all the Extreme Risks books and this one was a bit disappointing. I have been waiting for Cam and Luc's story through the other two books. Their story was simmering in the background and it seemed to have the makings of a really good best friends to lover story. It started out where we left off...these two were drunk and slept together. Cam didn't handle the morning after well and disappeared. Luc, who constantly thinks he plays second, third, even forth best to this best friends is beyond hurt but plays it off. He doesn't do a stellar job as he ignores Cam and their friendship suffers.

The best part of this book is seeing these two come around even after hurting each other. It seemed real and the miscommunication was endless but they inherently love each other. They want to fix their relationship and even move it to the next level. The secondary storylines of Luc playng second fiddle to all of his buddies in snowboarding and Cam's mom reappearing after leaving when she is a child aren't explored enough but had the potential to be powerful storylines. Also, the ending and HEA was rushed and so much more detail could have been provided. This book left me wanting more but it was still an enjoyable read.
