If it weren't for one kind of major issue, I would have given Bad Boy Rock Star an extra star. There's a great story here, but I was distracted the entire time I was reading. Hannah is a rich girl, fallen from grace. Her father got into some financial trouble, took off, and the only asset not frozen is his music management company that was more of a side project. Well, Hannah is now in charge, so she has to track down her only band, Storm. She doesn't really want to manage them (she knows nothing about their music, or rock at all), especially after meeting the lead singer, Jack Colt. But Hannah has nothing else, so she's going to make it work.

Bad Boy Rock Star started off quite confusing for me. At first, I just thought the dialogue was really awkward and stiff, but then the characters started using British Slang. Mystery solved? Not really. There really is no indication of where this book is set, and despite the heavy use of British English, there's actually a lot of American English used too. Sometimes the British term for something will be used, but then later the American term is used. Also, whenever money is brought up (which is often), it's in dollars, but time is written the European way. I even took a break to look up the only location mentioned: the Metropolis. Well, there's one in the US, UK, and Canada. Probably other places, too, so I just don't know! This was extremely distracting, and I couldn't stay fully in the story when the language was completely inconsistent.

I did really liked the plot of Bad Boy Rock Star though. Hannah was hard to warm up to, since she's a total spoiled brat and definitely lets us know it. She says a lot of horrible things about poor people, and she says a lot of dumb things, because she just doesn't know anything about money. But she does grow and change as she works with the band, and figures out how to budget and gets what she needs without flashing Daddy's credit card. Of course, there's also a budding romance between her and Jack. There's plenty of tension, but once things start happening, secrets come out! And then it ends. I am a bit curious to see where this goes.

Bad Boy Rock Star was pretty good. The plot was fun, and I generally liked the characters, especially Angie! She's great! And not just because we share a name! I liked seeing Hannah learn how to live on her own while also learning how to manage a band. I don't know if I will continue the series, but I might.
