Este libro es un flashback. Cuando la serie ya iba por el 7 o el 8 Clancy escribió este ambientándolo en la época en que Ryan era un analista de la CIA recién ingresado y descubre un complot de los soviéticos (Andropov es personaje principal, es la primera vez que no se inventa un sosias con otro nombre) para matar al papa Juan Pablo II.
No es de los mejores ni de lejos. Es sosezno.
