Romance Schmomance

I was pleasantly surprised with this book because I had no idea what kind of turn it would take, especially being from Cade's POV. I love a solid dual POV, but I was quite okay with just one, and that being Cade's. It made for a new perspective on male POVs.
Like most males in our beloved romances, Cade's your typical hot, man-whore and does the whole 'no strings' attached with his list of women. Yes, he has a list of women that understands what he wants. Hey, it's all consensual... With his already busy life of owning a successful bar, finishing up his masters, and starting an event-planning business with his sisters. Lets just throw Hannah into the mix as their go-to baker for their new business. Can Cade stick to his rules of not mixing business with pleasure?
Hannah is on the verge of opening her own bake shop and has had her share of heartbreak. She puts up the 'ice queen' facade to guard her heart, so that it'll never happen to her again. Once Cade enters her life, they form a unique relationship that's not completely sexual. Will Hannah let Cade break down her walls for another chance at love?
One of the main reasons why this book is so unique is because it wasn't all sex for Hannah and Cade. Yes there was plenty of sexual tension, but they managed to take their relationship/friendship at a very slow pace. As much as I wanted something more to happen between them, I love how much fun they had with their friendship/relationship/whatever you want to call it. Cade would offer Hannah business advice for her home cooked meals, it seemed like a win to me because whatever Hannah made was AMAZING. I wish I was in this book to sample her baking and cooking! And she's such an artist with her baking, I vote for pictures of some of her eloquent pieces!
They're both broken from their pasts and it's evident that they're letting it taint any kind of relationship for their future. But they'll definitely help each other get through it. Their relationship is so sincere and sweet, it's hard not to love them both. They're so comical together and the teasing between the two is endless. Because the pacing of their relationship, it's easy to relate to and it just comes out more real. And I love that a lot, when you can actually connect with the the characters. They're so true to one another and you know once they cross that hazy line of relationship, it'll be some amazing. Definitely can't wait for that moment to happen!
I was hoping it would be a stand alone, to be honest, I'm horrible at looking out for things like that, when it comes to reading. Therefore, I gave this book a 4-STAR rating. I look forward to the rest of Cade and Hannah's story.
