Ama lives with her mother, father and brother in a small town. One morning, little Ama feels unwell, and after her mother takes her to the health clinic they learn that she has malaria. This story looks at how important it is to take care of the environment around the home and the areas in which people live to prevent the development of the mosquitoes that cause malaria. From Ama's sickness all her friends, classmates and, eventually, all those living in the town learn how they can help in controlling the spread of the disease. This is one of a series of books that take as their theme the relationship between man and his environment. They aim to teach environmental topics while promoting reading efficiency in English.
