This story just keep getting better with every book!
In this one, they not only have to deal with the possibility of Zombies attacking the walls again, but they have to make sure they can last with enough food and supplies. Going out and securing these things for everyone is dangerous, and there are lost lives, but they still do it anyway because it needs to get done. There’s also the survivors out there that they start to pick up, and the rumours of bandits running around.
The hotel mentioned in the first book is their best chance to get everyone a proper place to stay since their population keeps growing. There are arguments on how safe it would be to just go right in, and Travis doesn’t want to risk it at first. There’s no power and an unknown number of Zombies inside. This was probably one of my favourite parts of the book, all the suspense and Zombie attacks were just so awesome!
Katie and Jenni develop more in this book as well, not only just moving on and trying to deal with their pasts but finding love in others. Everyone seems to be haunted by ghosts of their past, but they can’t give into them now if they want to keep going. There are of course still the trouble makers, and the vigilante killer. There was one moment at a party that just made me hate one character so much (throw him over the wall!).
Although this book starts to deal more with the people and their relationships, and of course some drama, there are definitely some good Zombie moments in here. I’m loving this series so much right now, and I can’t wait to read the next book!
