I had a different impression of Logan in the other books for some reason and I don’t know why, knowing what I know about his brothers. I mean he hasn’t even said hello to Sophie in the very beginning of the book and he is thinking, “This is what she looks like when she comes…cheeks flushed, eyes wide and dazed, and those soft pink lips parted.” Uh helllllo. Sophie was so sweet and I really liked her. I loved that she and Logan knew of each other and I loved how even though she was struggling with her self esteem, she was working on herself. She wanted to be confident and charming and all of the traits that Logan did not lack. Logan was the perfect fit for her, he brought her out of her shell and valued her for exactly who she was. They complemented each other, she needed someone that pushed her and challenged her and Logan needed someone he could turn off the executive big shot and just get back to being Logan…to enjoying life.
One thing I especially love about Ms. Beck is her sense of humor. She always blends it so seamlessly with the passion in her books. “Are you okay?” She nodded, until an exasperated inner voice spoke up. Stop acting like a bobblehead. Use your words. “Yes. Of course. The carpet is surprisingly soft.” He lifted one eyebrow. “Is that what you were aiming to do? Give the carpet a bounce test? She fought back the urge to I was aiming to give you a bounce-test.”
See? FUNNY and SEXY. I love it. I need more McCade men. I don’t think this out of the realm of possibility, do you Ms. Beck? ;)
