Unraveled is a book that I both loved and hated at the same time. I find myself drawn to the character Aden, a boy with three souls trapped in his head - an interesting concept. Then you have Victoria the vampire and Riley the werewolf. The both seemed rather cliched yet with interesting twists. To finish things off you have Mary Ann - the drainer, a character I found myself rooting for throughout the series.

While the characters in the book were likable, I found their relationships very... teenager-ish. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of chemistry that matches the characters together, they just are. It just seems rather unbelievable that they've been together for a few weeks and progressed to the I-love-you-and-can't-live-without-you-even-for-a-second stage.

I also feel a bit of paranormal overload. It seems like different creatures are just being tossed in the book just because. It also seems to drag in places.

Despite all the flaws, I found this book myself glued to this book. Showalter is a very talented author and I haven't read a book of hers that I haven't enjoyed. I look forward to seeing the story progress in the next novel.

Aden Strone has to deal with a lot of things now, he's the head of the fampire family in the area, his girlfriend wants his blood, which could make him addicted to the process and one of his friends is leaching the life-force out of the supernaturals in the area. And the voices in his head, the human souls he shares his life with, are trying to help him out.

You'd think that he'd be more used to talking silently to the people in his head at this stage, particularly when the habit of talking to them out loud has landed him in a psychiatric institution more than once.

He's more interested in survival right now than school and any time he tries to explain things to anyone not involved it ends up with him being on a lot of drugs.

The series is interesting, a slightly different slant than normal and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
